Congratulations Class of 1967!! Has it really been 40 years? The years do go by quickly. Ballard was a great place to start our education. I have many fond memories of your class and how we interacted in band, chorus, yearbook, and etc. I've been teaching art since I landed in Mason City in 1972 with the last 23 years at our community college. Roger, my husband, & I have no children and enjoy our volunteer work in our community-he as mayor and I as a board member of the MacNider Musem and Wright on the Park [a group who is working on restoring a FLW Hotel & bank in down town MC]. We won't be able to attend this gathering but am sure you will have lots of fun and recognize most everyone! Cheers!

Hey Class of '67 Congrats to Bob and all of you who've put this website together and all the plans for the reunion. Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend. I do still live nearby, however. I was recently married after the death of my husband, John Schonhorst (class of '65) in 2001. I now live in Ankeny with my husband, Bill Case. My 2 sons live in Huxley and operate their father's insurance agency. They are each married and I have 2 grandsons. After 32 years teaching French at Ames High School I retired in 2005. I now keep too busy with the things I love to do...traveling, reading, painting, gardening and being grandma. My best to you all. Have a wonderful reunion. Sally

The Class of 67 Open Invitational Golf Tournament is still open and you're invited. We have four tee times lined up starting at 7am on Saturday, the 7th. The greens fees at the Ballard Country Club are $15 for nine holes and $23 for 18. I have been corresponding with 13 people so far who are interested. (Many are actual women.) I can cheerfully squeeze in a few more. Let me know at (904) 386-3722. Gentlemen are reminded that with so many ladies on the outing there will be no whizzing in the woods.

How impressive your webpage is!!!! Congratulations on your upcoming reunion. Thank you for your kind invitation to join your class in some of the planned festivities. Unfornunately, I will not be able to attend this year. I have lived in a suburb of Chicago for over 20 years. My two children also live in the Chicago area, and I will be a grandmother for the second time in August. I work part time as a medical social worker in a local hospital. I get back to Iowa occasionally as my parents still live on their farm. (Usually they drive to Chicago!) Have a great reunion!! Jan

How about golfing on Saturday morning? The Ballard Country Club will challenge a good player but it can also be kind to us hackers. If everyone who is interested will send me an E-Mail, I will try to get a few foursomes together and save the tee times. The last time we did this we had about 12 people and everybody had a great time. I don't remember any of us being particularly good golfers but that may have changed. We've had fifteen years to practice.

Comments: Hi everyone. Just a note to let you know I will not be able to attend the reunion this year. We will be in the area around the fourth but have to return to Alpharetta on the 7th.

I am very disappointed that I will not be able to attend the reunion on 7-7-7. The irony is, that I will be in Iowa in June for only the fourth time in these last forty years since the wonderful year at Ballard as an exchange student, yet in July I will be in Rumania and Hungary for a conference. I'll keep trying in future years! If you are ever near NY City acome and visit: free lodging! I am 30 minutes by local train from Grand Central Station, and live in a plenty large Victorian house along the Hudson River.

I checked out the Ballard 1967 website and really got interested in seeing what happened to everyone. I only got as far away as Des Moines, but I have lost track of everyone. My husband and I will try to make it to the reunion. Hope to see the list of attendees grow.

Reunion time is almost here and I am really looking forward to seeing lots of friends July 7th. Ralph and I are planning on playing golf- I hope I won't be the only female playing!

I was originally trying to find out about my reunion. To my surprise I found there was more than one Ballard High School. I have been talking with Bob Christianson off and on today and we have learned much about each others schools. So, from my Ballard High School in Seattle, Washington I would like to wish your Ballard High School in Iowa a very successful 40 year reunion. I hope life has been good to each and every one of you. As current principal at BHS, I am excited to tour the class of 1967 around our new additions to our facilities. Those of you who have not visited in a while will be quite surprised at the changes!!

It will be great to see all my long-standing young friends. At various times in the brief period since we graduated I have felt regret that I didn't take the trouble to be a better friend to some of the really great kids in the class of 67. I similarly feel regret that I haven't done a better job of staying in touch. Oh Hell. We were kids. Let's just get together and have fun.
